2027 TCS London Marathon
The 2027 TCS London Marathon takes place on Sunday, 25 April 2027 in London, United Kingdom. One of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors, it is widely regarded as the world's most popular marathon, with a record 1.33 million people entering the ballot for this edition alone.
The iconic 26.2-mile (42.195 km) point-to-point course starts in Greenwich Park and Blackheath in southeast London. Runners wind through Greenwich, pass the historic Cutty Sark, cross the River Thames at Tower Bridge, loop through the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf, and return along the river past the Shard and the London Eye. The course concludes with a breathtaking finale along The Mall, in sight of Buckingham Palace.
With approximately 50,000 runners on the start line and hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the streets, the atmosphere is unmatched. Elite athletes and everyday heroes share the same start line, making the event a celebration of community and human endurance.
Entry is available via the public ballot, Good for Age qualification, or through an approved charity or official international tour operator. The ballot for 2027 has now closed; charity places may still be available. London Marathon Events is also exploring a historic two-day format for 2027 (Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April), pending official approval.
