Tour de France 2026 – Grand Départ Barcelona

The 113th edition of the Tour de France makes history by launching from Barcelona, Spain — the most southerly city ever to host a Grand Départ and the first time the Catalan capital opens the world's greatest cycling race. The event runs from Saturday, 4 July to Sunday, 26 July 2026, covering 3,333 km across 21 stages and two rest days.

Stage 1 on 4 July is a spectacular 19.7 km team time trial through Barcelona's streets, the first TTT stage-opener at the Tour since 1971. Stage 2 finishes on the iconic Montjuïc circuit, giving Catalan fans back-to-back race finishes in their city. The official team presentation takes place on 1 July at Plaça de Catalunya, free and open to the public. The first three stages all finish on Catalan soil before the peloton crosses the Pyrenees into France.

The race is organised by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and concludes on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on 26 July, after 54,540 metres of vertical gain that includes Alpe d'Huez on back-to-back stages for the first time in Grand Tour history. The Tour de France is broadcast to over 190 countries and draws 150 million estimated viewers in Europe alone. Roadside viewing along the entire route is free of charge.
