About the Event
2026 Tour de France – 113th Edition
The 2026 Tour de France is the 113th edition of cycling's most prestigious Grand Tour, organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO). The race runs from 4 to 26 July 2026, covering 3,333 km across 21 stages over 23 days, with a total elevation gain of 54,540 metres.
For the first time since 1971, the Tour opens with a team time trial, starting near Barcelona's seafront and finishing atop the iconic Montjuïc hill. Barcelona is only the third Spanish city in 113 editions to host a Grand Départ, following San Sebastián (1992) and Bilbao (2023).
The route crosses five major mountain ranges: the Pyrenees, Massif Central, Vosges, Jura, and Alps. The centrepiece of the final week is an unprecedented back-to-back double finish at Alpe d'Huez on stages 19 and 20, with Stage 20 also tackling the Col du Galibier and Col du Télégraphe for over 5,500 metres of climbing in a single day.
The race concludes on 26 July in Paris, featuring a dramatic passage through Montmartre before the traditional sprint finish on the Champs-Élysées. With 23 teams competing, including all 18 UCI WorldTeams, the 2026 edition promises to be one of the most challenging and spectacular in the race's history.
