Voltaren City2Surf 2026 — The World's Largest Fun Run
The Voltaren City2Surf 2026 returns to Sydney on Sunday, 9 August 2026 for its 56th edition. Officially the world's largest fun run, the event draws more than 85,000 participants from across the globe — elite athletes, casual joggers, families, charity fundraisers, and costumed revellers alike.
The 14-kilometre point-to-point course starts at Hyde Park (corner of Park Street and College Street) in the heart of Sydney's CBD and winds through the city's streets before delivering runners to the iconic finish line on the sun-drenched sands of Bondi Beach. Along the way, participants must conquer the notorious Heartbreak Hill, a challenging two-kilometre climb that begins around the sixth kilometre, featuring approximately 221 metres of total elevation gain.
Beyond the race itself, City2Surf is a massive community celebration. Since 2008, participants have collectively raised over $63 million AUD for charities in need, with a 2026 fundraising goal of $5 million supporting more than 900 organisations. Race registration includes return public transport on race day, a finisher's medal, and access to the post-race festivities at Bondi Beach. Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply soaking in the atmosphere, City2Surf is a bucket-list event for runners around the world.
